Gymnastics and Swim Lessons!

So I feel kind of like a soccer mom now, minus the soccer... I have all these great extra curricular activities for the girls to do, and it's awesome! Thank goodness our medical insurance gives us free membership to the YMCA, and discounts on the programs! (And thank goodness for our amazing family who helps us out with paying for these things!)
This session, Lilly and Abby are both doing Gymnastics and Swim Lessons. I had to help out with Abby's first gymnastics class, so I only got one picture of how excited she was before class started...

Abby was SO EXCITED for gymnastics!!!
It was a work-out for me too. Abby was just all over the place trying to do the summersaults and jumping around. I had to help her learn to wait her turn in the line (which I still don't think she has the control to do). She loved it though! And she did awesome. The teacher decided to show her how to "Smash the Cupcake," because she thought she was more advanced and ready for it. It's where after you do a summersault or whatever move you're doing, you put your put out in front of you (smashing the cupcake) and put your hands in the air. I explained it to her as a "Ta-Da!" and she caught on. Her class has 1-3 years olds, so she was definitely on the more advanced level than some of the younger kids.
Lilly had a blast with her gymnastics class too! She was so excited to wear her little gymnast outfit! At one point, one of the teachers said, "Wow- you're fast! I'm not that fast." Lilly says, "It's because of my gymnastics clothes. You don't have gymnastics clothes, so you can't do it as fast." Hahaha!

Lilly also did amazing with her swim lessons! She was so excited for them, and wasn't even nervous. She only had one other girl in her class, who was 3yrs old, so it was almost like private lessons. Score! She was so fast when swimming, and had so much fun.

Abby's class is a parent/child class, so I only got to take the pictures of before class started. She did great too! Her teacher was creative too with teaching. We started out singing song like, "Ring Around the Rosie," and "The Wheels on the Bus," while moving the kids around in the water to help them feel comfortable and have fun. She loved all of it, and had fun. With like three minutes left to go though, her teeth were chattering and she didn't want to swim anymore. She get cold so easily when swimming! Not enough fat on her!

I look forward to all of the classes to come! (And the girls do too!)
